The thermo-adhesive studs, for those who don't know them, are metallic thermo-adhesive materials;
they are used to embellish, enhance or make them unique and particular
any article of clothing or any other object.
They can be applied to any fabric, suede...
INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLYING THE STUDS
These studs can be applied in 3 different ways:
1) A FLAME: which can be from a candle, from a camping stove….
Can be used for any stud or rhinestone. It works like this:
take the material (rhinestones or studs) with tweezers and heat the glue
it is behind it on the flame for a few seconds then as soon as it melts, apply the
material on the surface you want to stick to, at which point you wait for it
cool a few seconds and the rhinestone or stud is attached.
2) The Glue: it is necessary to use "soft" glues such as Gutermann ht2 glue or
Attak flex gel otherwise "glassy" glues like normal Attak do not last long.
Glue can be used for any material but is mandatory
when you need to apply studs or rhinestones on plastic, wood, ceramic, glass...
Non-porous surfaces where the glue from the rhinestone or stud cannot penetrate and grip.
3) The Iron: it is used to speed up the process when you have to attach a lot of rhinestones
or lots of nearby studs; in this case you place the rhinestones on the surface where you want to apply them,
you put the iron on it for 20 seconds. The operation is repeated if it is not possible to heat all the rhinestones
in a single time; at this point everything is left to cool for a few minutes and the materials are attached.
In this case, however, there is a risk that once the iron is placed on the surface
you could move the materials or you could ruin the fabric because part of the iron
comes into contact with the surface on which you want to apply the thermoadhesive materials;
To overcome this problem, we recommend using rhinestone paper which is used to hold the rhinestones in place
and protect the surfaces on which the materials are applied.
It is used in this way: you place the materials on top of the surface, then you put this paper on top
which is like scotch tape, at which point you put the iron on it for 20 seconds (without fear, it doesn't melt,
resists heat up to 250°) let everything cool and then remove the rhinestone paper.
At that point the rhinestones or studs are attached.
